Wow, how depressing.

It is EVERYWHERE on all adjoining properties and all along this creek :( I only rent but is there anything I can do? Seems too large scale for one individual

When I have tackled this species persoanlly it has been back-breaking labour, in saying that i'm not a landcarer so that may not be the best method. You may be able to apply for contracted removal I'm not sure. @MichaelMulvaney what would your advice be?

Im doing the backbreaking labour in my yard where it also popped up this year but its a losing battle what with all the thistles, hemlock, horehound etc.

Clare - unfortunately Vinca Major is really hard to kill - We have tried various chemical options on red Hill but none have proved very effective and we have resorted to the mattock. One positive is that it is relatively slow spreading so you can start from the outside of an infestation and work inwards.

Sorry I did not have an easier solution.

It might be slow spreading but I think its been left in these old paddocks a long time because there are several infestations which are very large in size! Also I think its spreading quicker in this weather!
