It looks like a spider orchid bud did it have one wide leaf can't tell from the photo. It's also an odd colour

I think it is an immature Caladenia atrovespa. I was watching plants grow from leaves to buds then nothing, after they were eaten; this is one nearby.

I was still calling them Arachnorchis atrovespa see Field Guide to Orchids of the ACT. by David Jones,jean Egan and Tony woods. A more suitable name don't you think.

Julie, I also prefer the usage of the name 'Arachnorchis', however the currently accepted name is 'Caladenia'.
