User's notes

This area is at about 1000m so is subject to many frosts. There are examples of other close by rocks flaking which I presume to be the result of freezing and thawing. This rock appears to have only recently split. The two halves match up. Although I had looked at the rock it was photographed in essentially the original position. Not sure if this is a "Geographical Feature" but it is of interest to me as an example of the processes that can reduce a whole mountain range.
