I think it would be better to add this photo to sighting 4445760 as it is another developmental stage of the same animal.

@donhe I'll include the cocoon to this sighting when I get time. As for the second question I am unsure, I don't think so. I found it after from bark of thick brown eucalyptus (species unknown). I should also note that the wings appeared transparent, which might be useful to identification.

This moth looks to me like it may be just emerging from its cacoon as an adult. Have you any later photos of the insect showing the forewings fully extended? While the antennae suggest Anthelidae I am not sure as regards the species.

The moth ended up remaining at this stage, with no wing expanse or anything.
