I am struggling to extract GPS info from my files: Windows tells me that the 2nd photo was recorded at location 35° 13' 41.7773", 149° 4' 12.29304". To get to the plant, from the bike path walk up the track up the hill to (near) the fence, turn right and go along the path for about 10 paces (Jenny assures me that her pace is one meter) past a dead tree. Then turn right down a beaten track (animal track?) for 20 paces. It is low, there are several stems growing at the edge of a little rock outcrop.
I just put those coordinates into google and the pin showed up in the ocean off the coast of Japan, after reading your location description I do not believe that this is correct.
Michael the latitude should be Negative as we are in the southern hemisphere, so try putting in the same coordinates but with a negative in front of the 35. I'm seeing the location on the shore of lake gininderra near the dog park.
Sorry for the confusion: we started from the Nengi Bamir Beach (so over the hill from the dog park). Walking south along the cycle path, we pass on our right new plantings, with light green plastic shields. A little further on, on our left, is the path through the grass up the hill. Proceed as described above.
Using Thurstan and Jenny's location and notes, I've carefully dug up the plants, roots, stems and all, and taken them away and put in my landfill bin. One new infestation avoided! Tx everyone.
