It seems to have lost 2 limbs but was still alive on the inside of the window pane. Not sure what it is, I think a fly.

Yes it is a fly as you can see the halter the small club like appendage on teh flies back which evolved from the hindwing and helps co=odinate wing and head muscles during flight
