According to Plantnet the width of Dodonea viscosa subsp. angustissima leaves vary from 1-6mm and leaves are linear to narrow-oblong; in subsp. angustifolia leaves are 5-10mm wide and narrowly tapered at apex and base (I can't see the tapering on the photos).
We don't have the subsp. angustifolia on our mt Majura/Ainslie Flora list so it would be good to get this right; I'd prefer a sample for id.

Waltraud I think you are right and I've mixed up my photos! I photographed the 4 subsp of hopbush in the reserve while I was there and I have one with linear leaves and a narrowly tapered apex, whereas this one is much blunter. If you would like it for the list I can send you the location (its easy to find) so someone can collect a sample, given all the upside down sightings i'd rather not upload anything more.

I just noticed today if I take photos in landscape they are ok. It’s only the portrait ones that go upside down

If you click on the 4th photograph that seems to be upside down it opens up okay - don't know the reason for presenting it upside down.
I sometimes hold my iphone camera the wrong way or if the pic is very large it presents upside down; usually downsizing the pic to below 10Mb does the trick. In certain circumstances, I don't care because upside down is still good documentation (for instance for a rare Cullen tenax). As the administrator of our Mts Majura Ainslie Flora list, I'm naturally keen to learn about new records (i.e. subspecies angustifolia would be a new record on our list. The 2021 updated Flora list is on our website at https://majura.org/species-lists/
Im currently in the process to update the list.
Many thanks for your help and records...
