VERY surprised to see large roadkill deer beside Long Gully Rd, about 200m below intersection with Erindale Drive.

Wow, I clicked on this sighting to find out the location, and yes, I'm very surprised too. I drive along this road frequently.

I was asked the other day if I had seen deer on Isaacs Ridge. This was removed by Parks and Conservation Service rangers by 8:30am. Identified as juvenile sambar deer.

I was told recently by reputable sources that Deer have been found to be increasing and spreading in the ACT region, and have been found in several suburban nature reserves in recent times e.g. Black Mountain. There is also a well established population in Kowen Forest, and I have noted their presence recently, and there have also been several roadkilled individuals in the last year or so along Sutton Rd around Kowen Forest.
