User's notes

A few small trees had lots of what looked like lerps, but each one actually housed a caterpillar. Not sure if they are moths or beetles. I took one home but it is so small I'm not sure how it will go rearing to an adult.

Excellent. I think the head looks like some beetle larvae I have reared. Any chance of a lateral view close up showing legs and possible prolegs?

Leaf blister sawfly, see page 112 my book. The blister is the give away. Can be quite damaging at times.
