Cernuella virgata (Da Costa, 1778) Family Geomitridae. Ranges across southern Australia. Particularly common in Mediterranean climates. Native to Europe, particularly coastal and Mediterranean regions. Invasive pest in Australia particularly in broadacre grain crops and vineyards. Many different colour forms ranging from white to speckled to thickly banded with dark brown spiral bands.
