Specific to blakeyi often in epidemic numbers leading to leaf fall and dieback. In evolutionary terms its surprising that the host tree has not developed more resistance to this lerp, suggesting the current imbalance is a more recent development, possible changes is land use.. See Floyd, R.B., Farrow, R.A., and Neumann, F.G. (1994). Inter-and intra-provenance variation in resistance of red gum foliage to insect feeding. Aust. For. 57: 45-48. Also Farrow RA (1991). Insects Pests of Eucalypts on Farmland and in Plantations in southeastern Australia. CSIRO Identifciation leaflets: 1-15
The host of Lasiopsylla rotundipennis is yellow box
