User's notes

Any idea on this black bug with 2 orange bits? Eating a strawberry. Likely more around that I never saw. Is it native? It was next to, but not interacting with likely some type of a small / young shield bug. Both ran away quick, when I tried to get a closer shot. Is it likely to become a pest & destructive? Thanks in advance!

Sorry I don't know what this species is - though I am pretty sure it is a nymph of a seed bug, possibly one of the ant-mimicking ones. As the name suggests they are a seed, flower and fruit eater - but not usually a major pest or problem
