Despite intensive searching of some large patches of rubus parvifolius on my property I have still not observed the enigmatic Aaaaba fossicollis, that 'must see' jewel beetle. I assume its larvae burrow in the stems of this plant.
Hi Roger. I have been keeping an eye out for these beetles ever since I first heard about them a couple of years ago, but with no luck until now. Even now that I have a good search image, I haven't seen any in any of the other raspberry patches I have checked, even one that was very close to this one.
