Just hanging around ... on a very long thread from a gum tree, until i caught the thread and placed it on the ground. I have no idea what it is ???? But it has 6 legs so maybe a caterpillar?

Yes: 16 legs = caterpillar. It would be good if you could rear it to the adult moth, then we could determine the species.
