This creek is normally crystal clear, so I was horrified to see the cloudiness of the water . . . and then, I saw this tail move, and the whole eel, before it disappeared into the (literally) murky depths up stream. I am very excited, as I believe there were eels a-plenty decades ago. I understand this tributary and the river system it feeds into was thoroughly surveyed around 2008, and pretty much found to be a liquid desert, so this was an exciting sighting! (if only the water had its usual clarity)
