This caterpillar shows the flat head, broken dorsal longitudinal line, forked tail and under belly form of Heteronympha merope. Jamides (four species) are from northern/offshore northern Australia with one species only also being recorded down through Qld to northern NSW (Michael Braby, Butterflies of Australia 2000).
