These photos are consistent with other photos of the caterpillar of Pararguda nasuta, but we only have photos of the caterpillars of 3 of the 12 named Australian species in this genus. It would be good to rear it to an adult to see if maybe it is one of the other 9.
Don, My mistake. I was a bit confused with the different sightings. This caterpillar was on a tree in my front yard. I think the birds got it before I could take it into custody. Was waiting for better weather to take better photos. However, this same caterpillar has been on this tree last year.
