I'm pretty sure its a Keys Matchstick Grasshopper. I photographed one a similar colour to this at Mulligans Flat last a few months ago.

It may be camouflaged to the red rock shown in the picture. Was there red soil in the vicinity. Many grasshoppers are able to change colour during development to match background, i.e black grasshoppers in burnt areas.

I have added an unrelated photo taken one minute before the grasshopper, so should be the same ground, some of the stones do look reddish.

In the past I have seen some dense populations of this species which contained many colour morphs - the usual brown or green, but also red like this and/or striped in green/cream, red/cream, black/cream etc.
