User's notes

Over a 3-day period many thousands of these small and very fast moving ants were milling about on a retaining wall as many winged males emerged. The sequence of images shows the emergence of a winged Queen, the only one seen during this time. She was significantly larger than the smaller ants, which were generally less than 5mm in size.
