At first I thought that too. But don't think that's it.

Jiggy best to drop a specimen to Dave albrecht via teh Botanic Gardens, when you can - I am thinking that it may be Star Jasmine -Trachelospermum jasminoides- which I haven't heard as being weedy anywhere else

Star jasmine has a sticky white latex sap. Maybe you can check this on your exercise walk. I don’t know how diagnostic this is but it’s a start.

Thank you Michael. Will do next Friday if we get out of lock down... do you have a contact number for Dave. And that's no good if it's is Star Jamine as how wide planted this plant is...
Interesting that Plantnet, plant snap and inaturalist pick up star jasmine but don't id this plant as star jasmine.

Looks a lot like Japanese Honeysuckle feeling the frost with leaves that are browned and of course no flowers? Note red stem with veined elongated leaves that I think are opposite, entire margin, .....
Leaf tip a bit rounded, but see sighting 4388364.
From Jiggy's comment "how wide planted this plant is" that fits with honeysuckle having rhizomes too?

@Jiggy are the additional photos from https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/90813804, the same plant?? I feel as though they may be key to this identification.
