User's notes

These prickly balls are attached (3 balls to each group; 2 groups) to the almond tree trunk by web strands. The balls are 4-5mm diameter and dark brown or grey. The prickles appear to be yellow. What are they?? I'm guessing they are invertebrate egg sacs ... maybe.
