This appears to be sugar glider scratchings on a Scribbly gum. The outer bark has been chewed and lies on the ground. The middle layer of bark has been comprehensively scratched as the animal seeks food. The middle layer is completely removed in some places. On my second visit to the tree after 3 weeks it is clear the animal has been here on more than one occasion.
