Many scattered along edge of the track over several hundred metres. Each cap up to about 15cm across

Given the overall form, what could be traces of orange colour left in the cap and the pine needles this looks like a waterlogged, weather-beaten Lactarius deliciosus - but there's still a chance I could be wrong.
