In his book (Simonsen 2018, CSIRO ) revising the Ghost moths, the author treats O. atripalpis and O. argentata as a species complex, with a good distinguishing mark between the two beng the colour of the antennae: red-brown in O. atripalpis and dark brown in O. argentata. The colour of the antennae here coincides with O. atriplapis as illustrated in that book. For no stated reason Moths of Victoria (Part 6) do not include either species in their acoount or in their suggested photographic key largely based on the antennae. Simonsen (2018) says O. atripalpis occurs in Victoria.
