The fly looks like a Stomorhina (family Rhiniidae).

Hi, is there any chance I could please be sent a couple of specimens of this? I realise it has been ID'd as a fairly common and widespread species Diphucrania leucosticta, which it most likely is, but its appearance this early in the season, and its strange colours, makes me wonder if it might be something else. I can be contacted at my email entom2@optusnet.com.au Happy to cover post and packing. Cheers, Allen M. Sundholm
