Thanks for this and the suggestion re editing the photos.I was worried the insect was some kind of borer. This matters because I have a lot of trees in my garden
and the park next door. Haven't seen these long-nosed guys this year. Like the blue-tongues - no sign of them in 2021 (yet).M

A sap sucker - so not good for trees - but if ID is right this species is not noted for causing significant impact
