This species flowers after other species have finished and is known for having a long flowering period in that each bud flowers, one by one, starting from the bottom and working up slowly. While each flower does not last long the flowering event does take a long time. This example shows previous flowers already developed into ripe seed pods and with a bud at the top still to open in the coming weeks.
