Under gum tree bark, about 20mm. quite a chunky cockroach, a lot less flat than a Laxta sp, so Im fairly convinced this is not Laxta. Molytria seems like the best match in the CNM cockroach field guide based on the distinctive pattern on the back.

Thanks for the sighting and great photos. Not Molytria sp. The markings could indicate Laxta friedmani but difficult to be certain. Our CNM field guide for the Molytria sp. had few incorrect photos etc, which I have rectified.
