Whyte states that Oxyopes elegans has black lines along the length of the insides of its front legs unlike the similarly sized O. variabilis whose legs are plain and closely furry underneath (This rules out O. variables). But whyte goes on to say "The very similar O. gracilipes, often further from the coast but overlapping in range, has much wider lines along the sides of the head". ♀ 7mm ♂ 5mm This seems to suggest that this is O. gracilises http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=1757
I have confirmed Oxyopes sp so that it is grouped with other similar sightings for the time being (and it is easier to revise ID in bulk this way), but confirmation of further ID is more than welcome as always :)
