Could it be C. variabilis?

It's probably most likely.

I'm calling it as C. variabilis given that every other sighting near this location and elsewhere across the site (in both paddocks) has been confirmed as C. variabilis. Not sure at what life cycle stage the pale flower colour represents? Assume it is eraly flowering just prior to turning yellow?

That's my only objection to confirming it. I'll leave it at genus for now, but I imagine we should be able to get a species ID.

Fair enough. If it's another Craspedia species that would also be great.

Upon review, Andy I reckon we are looking at C.paludicola. This plant is very large with super long and narrow leaves which matches that species more than it does C.variabilis

Interesting! Yes well it is quite robust (or boofy to quote my FOG colleague Marg Ning). In the first pic showing the whole plant the Swainsona sericea in the bottom left hand corner provides some sense of scale - I guesstimate the Swainsona is <=10cm high but it could be taller? This Craspedia is not that tall but I agree leaves seem to be different to C. variabilis i.e. longer and narrower.
