The two flies were intent on waving their wings at each other, possibly a mating dance? They were probably only about 5 mm long

I gather that these flies are just a bit manic and have the habitat of continuously waving their wings when resting.

Whatever their reason they didn’t mind me or my camera, and just kept waving for several minutes
