Moth didn't settle at all, but obtained nectar whilst hovering.

Up until and including on 5 May 2020 there had been 12 sightings of H. scofa on CNM spanning the 7 years since 13 November 2013. Since November 2020 until this sighting there have been 14 sightings this summer of 2020-21 alone.

Wow - that's amazing, and also fantastic! I wonder why the huge increase - are there any thoughts as to the reason? I actually saw another one a couple of days after this sighting - although I guess it could have been the same one, who knows?

I can only speculate it may be due ti a wetter spring and early summer.
