User's notes

This spider is very unique and completely different to the ones I have seen so far. It looks like a hermit crab. The spider was guarding its nest and perfectly camouflaged. If anyone can ID it , will be great.

Having had a better peek am none the wiser though now think may be Dolophones sp.or wrap around spider....

I wonder if it could be a species of Poltys. The posture with legs drawn up around the carapace, along with the bizarre shaped abdomen would fit this genus. Great spotting thanks Keltshi, a first sighting for Canberra Nature Map. An amazing animal I think of it as the Tawny Frogmouth of the spider world - except it looks like a twig rather than a branch
