Sorry about photo quality. Deep down in large hollow gum log. About 3 cm? Probably a cockroach but it had a very strange head.

Thanks Jacky. It looks like a Panesthia australis. Th size and shape look about right but as you say the head is a bit odd. I will let Kim check and confirm.
