Just a guess on this being Cal. therophilus. I stand ready and eager to be corrected.

Assuming the date provided is correct then this is almost certainly C. therophilus. C. platychilus looks identical, although apparently less robust, and flowers much earlier. December to February flowering is a trait associated with C. therophilus so I can't see why it wouldn't be that species.
