found three separate groups of these orchids, widely scattered in the reserve - there are probably many more there

You actually have two species here. The first image shows Hymenochilus cycnocephalus which has a dark green 'T' at the top of the labellum. The other images are of H. bicolor which has a dark green/black dot or 'M' at the top of the labellum.

Thanks Matt. Although I’ve been doing bird surveys at Callum Brave for 15 years I don’t think I’ve ever found orchids there in the past. Two species - that’s good news. I’ll have to work harder at being able to identify them. Sandra
