Discovered by Ross Kingsland in a hole within a Cootamundra Wattle stump (see pic) when doing woody weed removal as part of the monthly Red Hill Regenerators working bee.

The larvae of many Cossidae species may look like that. You need to rear larvae to the adult moth to ID them.

I think we should assume this is the common E. encalypti that bores in many Canberra wattles
