User's notes

Cannot find a positive Id for this spider, thought it might be a Wrap-around spider (Dolophones sp) but doesn't quite fit, also seems to hold its abdomen in odd positions.

I think your suspected ID of Dolophones sp is correct. The overall shape including the abdomen, length and direction of each pair of legs and eye configuration seem reasonably indicative. However, if you find an ID you believe to be more suitable, please feel free to suggest it!
Your observations on its movements and positioning of the abdomen are interesting and a valuble note on behaviour; I think it's natural, particularly considering it was actively moving instead of pretending to be camouflaged as shown in most sightings of the genus.

Thanks Yumi, we really had no idea whether it was an Orb or a wraparound, nothing really fitted when looking at ALA or Spiders of Australia book. Thanks
