Possibly a species of Coltriciella (probably less likely a species of Phellinus). Was it growing on the underside of wood that was lying on the ground? Did you happen to notice (1)if it had a softish texture and (2) whether it was firmly or somewhat loosely attached to the wood.?

It was on the underside of a small piece of burnt wood. I could not confirm the other details unfortunately.
