Consistent with the warning sign to be aware of falling trees, we heard this tree crash at 9 am, 16 August 2020. It has hung up on a smaller eucalypt. The bole and at least one section of an upper root, have been reduced in diameter by one or more control burns. The root ball is small but some roots remain in the ground so there is potential for coppicing. The very high soil moisture levels following consecutive rainfall events of 80mm+ and 15mm presumably enabled this fall. Wind strength at the time was in the vicinity of 20-30kph.
