The 2020 winter wind storms (70kph+ winds) and now the recent 80mm+ rainfall have caused numerous trees to fall in Black Mountain Nature Reserve. I thought it might be useful to document these trees so that any future researchers interested in decay rates, etc, will know when the trees hit the ground. One of the branches in this tree was dead and showed extensive wood grub damage. The live stem seemed solid. The root ball seems attenuated.
This tree required road clearance work by park managers.
