User's notes

This case moth was incarcerated on 26 Oct after being found inside my laundry room. Tried adding this with notes a few weeks ago, but it did not load, so am trying again now. Will add rest of history if loads okay. See sighting 4238764 for another found the day before. For more than three months it cycled through a number of days eating lichen, then a number of days not moving. It's favourite lichen seemed to be orange (eg see sighting 4249444). It approximately doubled in size over the time, and was also seen on the floor of the container in soil a couple of times, perhaps adding to its case? It then attached to the piece of bark in the photos, and has remained there ever since, and now appears as shown.

It looks like an empty pupal case. Did a moth come out of it?

Hi Don, was wondering if you might say something like that. I certainly did not notice it, but have now removed a few sticks etc from the jar, and found something at the bottom of the jar. I guess it would be dead, must have emerged weeks or months ago! I will try to get it out of the jar and get a better pic. Does this look right though??
