only lasted a day before collapsing I have no idea what it is

The woodchip habitat, cap colour & smoothness, the cracked caps and size strongly suggest the Agrocybe praecox group. I will put it there but add the cautionary note that to move from 'highly plausible' to 'certainty' would need a view of the gills and stem.
