Author's notes
Never seen this at West Belconnen Pond before, but it seemed to be creeping out from the edges covering dozens of square metres. The water level is high, and also appeared clearer than usual.

You would need to use a compound microscope to be certain of identifying this any further. Otherwise one could make some guesses but that is all they would be.
