I find these 2 species difficult to distinguish between Michael. Could you please tell me what features to look for or any good source of information to help? All CNM Theseus modestus records are of nymphs which seems odd. Cheers Bron
Good question Bron. See this sighting ID'd by Martin Lagerwey who is quite an expert: https://www.jungledragon.com/image/44640/poecilometis_patruelis_nymph.html Perhaps some or all are incorrect. I just checked all of them and only two were confirmed by our experts; one by Kim Pullen, sighting 3392541, and one by Roger Farrow, 3868646. It needs an expert such as Kim to check it out.
I don't know shield bug nymphs well enough to identify them. If I've given them names in the past, then I should take them back to simply 'Pentatomidae sp.".
