Correct ID would be appreciated. This is my first sighting.

You got your first identification right! In this case I could see evidence of the brown spores on the old(?) black fruitbody underneath these. In future please try and get some images of what is going on underneath the cap of the fungus as there can be valuable information to be found there as well.
