Photo 2 looks like an Acaena. I don’t know what photo 1 is. If, as I suspect, the photos are of two different plants, could you make them separste sightings please?
Betty - the photos are of the same plant. Photo 1 is a side-on close up of the single flower head. You can see the same flower head in the bottom centre of photo 2, pointing at the camera and a bit out of focus. Jacky
Assuming the flower head is going to lengthen as the flowers open. The backs of the leaves look very hairy, which makes it Acaena x ovina rather than Acaena echinata
