User's notes

Very perturbing. This wallaby was stumbling around in a very sorry state, apparently blind and deaf. Could this be Taxoplasmosis, often transmitted by feral cats?

Thanks very much for reporting this sighting. We have received several sightings of Swamp Wallabies with similar eye conditions, and while Toxoplasmosis can relate to blindness in Macropods, it would appear unusual that we haven't had sightings of it in other species here. Have a look at the Swamp Wallaby pages to see the other individuals sighted.
We are very keen to receive further sightings of this or other individuals with eyes of similar appearance. In the case that one is found deceased a report of its location as soon as possible after finding it would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great day! Shelley
