I believe some kind of mud dauber wasp.. Was observed digging in the banks of the stream / drain.

I think this is formosim because it has black antennae and multiple yellow spots on its back seehttp://museum.wa.gov.au/research/collections/terrestrial-zoology/entomology-insect-collection/entomology-factsheets/sceliphron

This is only my observation but is consistent with all the sightings so far identified in CNP and those I looked at on the net
