User's notes

These slugs get into my worm farm. Are they carnivorous?

The colour of this specimen is not typical of Limax maximus.

How large are these slugs? What colour mucus do they secrete when poked with something pointy? I think this may be Lehmannia flava (Great Yellow Slug). If it has yellow mucus if
poked with a pointy object then Its Lehmannia flava. If its secretes milky white mucus then it may be Deroceras reticulatum (Reticulated slug), but it looks more like the former.

The slugs can be up to 10cm long. I couldn't find one to poke it but the ones I turned out of the worm farm were yellow on their undersides. The Great yellow slug would seem to be a likely id.

Ive re-submitted species as Limacus flavus. Same slug, but Australian Land Snails Volume 1 by Stanisic lists it under Limacus instead of Lehmannia, so Im going with the Aussie expert.
